Street foods are sold by hawkers or vendors on the street or any other public places. These street foods are ready-to-eat food or drinks. People love to have these street foods as are reasonably priced and have different flavours. Portable food booth, food cart, food truck are the places from where these street foods are sold. If you are in a hurry or you can’t afford restaurant meals, street foods are bliss for you. Indians are well-known for adopting different food habits. Some foods are typically regional but now they have gone past their region of origin.

In today’s world where everyone is busy with their own life these street foods give an extra value to life to cope up with time. Let us discuss what the types of street foods we see are in our daily life.

Pav Bhaji: Pav Bhaji is one of the most common street foods in India. It is so popular among people. People from all around the world like to have Pav Bhaji when they come to India. There are lots of varieties in Pav Bhaji. It is made up of pav, potatoes, tomatoes, onions, mixed vegetables.

Pakora: Pakora is a fried snack. It is a very popular snack across the Indian subcontinent known as pakoda, bhajiya, bhajji and many more. Veg and non-veg both are the types of pakoras available in the market. Vegetable pakoras are made up of chickpeas flour or besan and vegetable. In case of chicken pakora, vegetable is replaced by chicken. It is very easy to cook. Many people make these pakoras in home.

Chole Bhature: Chole bhature is a well-known dish for breakfast in India. This dish is from the Punjabi cuisine. Basically this is a combination of chana masala and bhature i.e. a fried bread made from flour.  This food is widely available in the streets of India. To add spices to it many vendors use sauces in the chole, which makes it even tastier.

Pani Puri: This is the most desired dish in India. From age 6 to 60, everyone crave for having this. Undoubtedly, this is one of the most wanted dishes in India. The fried puri is crisp, round and hollow. A mixture is of flavoured water, chilli, tamarind chutney, potato, chaat masala, and onion. This is actually a mouth-watering dish in the streets of India.

Samosa: A samosa consists of flours, spiced potatoes, onions, peas is a fried or baked dish. This is very popular in Indian streets. This dish also comes with different varieties. Noodles, cheese, minced lamb, minces beef can also be added to it.

Aloo Tikki: Aloo tikki is made up of boiled potatoes, onions and various curry spices. Aloo tikki is usually served with chole. This dish is very easy to prepare and it takes very little time.
